Arts and Culture Matching Loan Fund
What - The Arts and Culture Matching Loan Fund (ACMLF) was created to provide a no-interest, matching loan program to non-profit arts and cultural organizations in the Lansing community. Loan requests must be for at least $5,000 and not for more than $50,000. Due to limited funds, loan applications will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Who - Loans are available to arts and cultural disciplines located in the City of Lansing emphasizing those located in established districts such as Old Town or East Michigan Avenue and those that have a significant impact on the future development efforts of the city. Interested organizations must be able to meet all of the eligibility requirements at the time of application in order to be considered for funding.
Why - While large non-profit institutions and businesses have broader access to lending, small community arts groups generally cannot draw upon such resources or may pay higher interest rates to do so. The ACMLF works to fill this gap and to provide a useful, no-interest financial tool for small and mid-sized arts and cultural organizations. These organizations are a critical component in our efforts to create a "sense of place" that, beyond mere jobs, creates an environment conducive to retaining and attracting the creative class.
