Welcome to the Lansing Economic Development Corporation

The Michigan Ave. Corridor Improvement Authority (MACIA) was established to oversee the strategic economic development of the Michigan Avenue Corridor, which is a vital part of the Lansing economic area partnership. This commercial corridor runs along E. Michigan Ave. from S. Larch St. to the city’s limit to the east. The MACIA’s primary mission is to foster economic development and revitalization along the commercial corridor, contributing to the overall community enhancement, supported by the lansing corporation and the lansing economic development corporation.

Annual Report / Current Projects

· The Michigan Avenue Corridor Improvement Authority is currently developing a website to connect the area’s residents and visitors to the corridor, supported by the Lansing Development Corporation. 


· The Michigan Avenue Corridor Improvement Authority recently developed a Facebook business page to engage with the community, enhancing the Lansing Economic Area Partnership. 


· The Michigan Avenue Corridor Improvement Authority supported the creation of the Red Cedar Social District by providing marketing materials in collaboration with the Lansing Economic Development Corporation. 


· The Michigan Avenue Corridor Improvement Authority created a facade improvement initiative for the 2000 block of Michigan Avenue, contributing to overall Lansing development.

·  A Commercial Corridor is a major street/ passageway lined primarily with businesses and commercial activity that serves the surrounding community.


• The MACIA was established to oversee the strategic economic development of the Michigan Ave. Corridor. The MACIA’s sole purpose is to generate economic development and revitalization along the commercial corridor, in hopes of increasing the corridor’s yearly tax revenue and overall activity.
